Storage and on-demand forwarding

Once you’ve registered your equipiment and selected Powder Locker Los Angeles or Powder Locker Louisville as your preferred storage location, we’ll help you get your equipment to us. Once your equipment has arrived and we’ve checked it in, your subscription will begin and your equipment will have a new home over the course of the subscription. You’ll be able to have the equipment forwarded to the skiing or snowboarding destination of your choosing – on your timeline – whenever you like.

We’ll charge the subscription fee monthly (in 28-day increments). You can cancel the subscription at any point. (Please let us know before any upcoming billing cycle.) time and, after the first month you’ll only pay for the time during which we store your equipment. should you end your subscription before a full billing cycle is complete. Getting started


Equipment registration

During the online registration and checkout process, you’ll list your items, giving some short descriptions of your equipment. We’ll give you the option of shipping your equipment in the box or boxes of your choosing (we’re not currently offering to store bags) or of receiving one or more boxes (and one or more corresponding shipping labels) from us. You’ll also let us know the address to which you’d like the equipment returned at the end of the subscription period. (You can update this selection over the course of your subscription.)

At the moment, subscriptions will be required to end no later than Monday, April 15th. As a result, April 15th will be the default last day of the Subscription Period (and the day on which Clublender will initiate the return of any stored equipment) unless the Customer and Clublender explicitly agree otherwise.


Equipment intake

Once we receive your equipment, we’ll confirm what we’ve received. If you verify that we’ve received everything you’ve intended to store – and in the condition in which you’ve intended to store it – your subscription will begin. (If you don’t, we’ll return the equipment to you and process a full refund of your subscription fee.)


Scheduling delivery of your equipment


Your custom product

Once your equipment is checked in, you’ll have access to your gear as a product listing on powderlocker.com. You’ll be able to signal when you’d like to have access to your gear at the destination of your choosing. You’ll also be able to view the shipping charges, as well as any additional handling or materials charges, for any combination of destination and dates you like.

We’ll box up and ship your equipment, and we’ll include a return shipping label (or multiple return labels if we’ve shipped your equipment in multiple boxes). You can enjoy the use of your equipment and, when you’re done using it, return it to us using the original packaging from any UPS Store or UPS Access Point (participating Staples locations, for example), or from any hotel or other commercial location that is willing to accept a UPS pickup.

We can schedule the pickup by UPS, but we’ll need your cooperation in getting the equipment back to us. We’re not able to take responsibility for your equipment while it’s at your destination.


Transit time and cost

Shipping costs are dynamic over the course of the season, but for your convenience we’ve put together this table of estimated standard (non-expedited) shipping cost ranges and times between each Powder Locker location option (availability-permitting) and different destinations across the country. Please note that this table is built for your convenience and is not a guarantee of future shipping charges. Please anticipate an additional per-order fee of at least $15 related to materials and handling. The packaging we use for your order will depend upon a number of factors, including the dimensions of your particular equipment.

Please note that we present these estimates in order to help provide a basic sense of shipping costs that may be associated with orders during the Subscription Period and not as a promise of future cost or timing. Shipping timing and cost are subject to change over the course of the season and may differ from what is displayed here. These estimates are based on assumptions of the packaging of skis into a 10 x 6 x 77″ container with a gross weight of 15 pounds, the packaging of a snowboard into an 18 x 6 x 68″ container with a gross weight of 15 pounds, the packaging of ski boots into a 20 x 20 x 8″ container with a gross weight of nine pounds, and the packaging of snowboard boots into a 20 x 16 x 8″ container with a gross weight of five pounds. The estimates assume ground (non-expedited) shipping.


More on transit time and cost

If you place your order by our cutoff time (noon locally at your equipment’s Powder Locker location), we’ll consider it our responsibility to get your equipment to our shipping partner (typically UPS) in time to accommodate your selection of dates and destination. We’ll track your shipment and give you the information to do the same, but because we can’t guarantee that our shipping partner will be able to meet their timing estimate, we recommend selecting, when placing your order, as early a delivery target for which you think you can feasibly support the receiving process at the destination.

By default, when you provide enough notice, we (and our website) will target a delivery date of two business days prior to your first day of use in order to accommodate any prospective delays in transit. If we have enough notice for on-time standard “ground” (non-expedited) transit to achieve delivery one business day prior to your first playing date, we’ll still default to standard delivery. In such instances, if you’d like to target earlier delivery in order to allow for any delays in transit, please select an earlier first booking date. That selection will signal to us that you’d like expedited shipping service.

As with non-expedited shipping service, when you select an expedited service option you’ll be able to visualize the cost of shipment at checkout before placing your order.


Equipment “home base”

During the registration process, you’ll select Powder Locker Los Angeles or Powder Locker Louisville as the home base for your equipment. Shipping charges will typically be lower over shorter distances, so if you think you’ll be more likely to use your equipment in the eastern portion of the country, Powder Locker Los Angeles may be a more cost-effective option, and if you think you’ll be more likely to use your equipment in the western portion of the country, Powder Locker Louisville may be a more cost-effective option.

If you’d like to change your home base over the course of your subscription period, please let us know. If we have the space in the location that you didn’t originally select, we may be able to change your home base.


Return of your equipment

Once your subscription period is done, we’ll initiate the return of your equipment to you. If you place an order that is close enough to the end of the subscription period that we estimate the return of the equipment to your equipment’s Powder Locker home base from your skiing or snowboarding destination wouldn’t allow us to initiate the return of your equipment while the subscription is still active, we’ll offer your choice of a return label that designates your original return address (rather than your equipment’s Powder Locker home base) as the return destination or of no return label (i.e., of a one-way shipment from your Powder Locker base to your destination). In such a scenario, we’ll consider the outbound shipment initiation date to be the last day of your subscription and refund any subscription fee associated with the remainder of the period.

If your last billing cycle will be an incomplete one because April 15th, 2024, will fall before the 28th day of the period covered by the billing cycle, we’ll prorate the final billing cycle.
